For years marketers have placed great emphasis on seductive images to entice customers to buy their brands.
However most marketers are missing the point.
Feelings and emotions have far greater potential to trigger an action than seduction.
Imagine a tree.
Call it the tree of emotion.
Visualise this tree has different branches.
Each branch being a feeling that represents an emotion.
So you may have hate, fear, joy, happiness and sadness to name a few.
The smart marketer needs to simply tap into one of these feelings to access the shortcut into a consumer’s emotional response.
Public relations experts do this every day.
Political parties do this every campaign period.
Marketers need to do more of it.
Using emotions allows a consumer to take a complicated subject and simplify it in their mind. If we didn’t use the shortcut of emotion we’d need a brain the size of a super computer, simply to process billions of variables involved in choosing a brand.
Neuroscientists have confirmed that the way we make decisions is primarily emotional.
The mind-blowing ideas and the true secret to success comes with tapping into core emotions.
