Google+ became available for businesses to utilise on November 7, 2011.
So what does this mean for your business? And how can your business utilise this new platform to connect with your consumers?
Google+ already has 40 million users and counting. Many consumers see it as preferable social networking tool and here’s why:
- Integration with Google services
Google will build Google+ social networking features and tools into almost all of its existing online services from Search to Documents to Video (YouTube). Millions of people use Google’s free services (Gmail, Docs, Search, etc.), and with Google+ effortlessly integrated to these services, it may begin to seem clunky to have to jump to another platform to do your social networking. - Integration with Android smartphones
Clients who use Android technologies may find that getting content from your phone to your social platform is easier and more functional with the Google+ mobile app. The app is already great, but Google are continually finding more ways to make the Android phone a seamless part of the Google+ social platform.
- Access to Google’s search engine
Google+ has Sparks, a search engine feature which gives users instant relevant information to share with friends. Because Facebook has no search engine, its users must always leave their site to surf the web. - Google+ is a much safer social networking media
Privacy advocates have long called for social networking sites to let users assign a privacy level to each piece of content they share. This function is built-in to Google+. When users share an article or upload an image, Google+ lets them choose which friend circles to share it with. (Note – facebook have adopted similar features in the interim)
